Airports and Bird Strikes
Falcons can be used for both foreign debris restrictions to remove birds from indoor helicopter hangers or for large scale airports to prevent damage to aircraft from bird strikes.
Airports are generally large tracts of undeveloped land on the fringes of urban or suburban settings. This undeveloped land is an attractant to birds, particularly as they lose habitat due to urban expansion. The land provides food and nesting habitat as well as dissuading large predators, giving these large flocks a safe sanctuary. The wetlands and drainage ponds also attract migratory waterfowl, gulls, and other large birds for the same reasons.
The birds that are often most attracted to airports are also the ones who pose the largest threat to aircraft.

Due to foreign debris restrictions we have also be hired to remove birds from indoor helicopter hangers for the US Department of Defense. Raptors can hunt and catch birds indoors without leaving any evidence behind.
In the report "THE COSTS OF BIRD STRIKES AND BIRD STRIKE PREVENTION" published Aug 2000.
The U.S. Air Force (USAF) suffers around US$33 million per year in damage to aircraft (including aircraft losses) (USAF Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard Team personal communication).

Estimated costs of primary and secondary delays and cancellations to commercial transport aircraft (source major US airline).
Primary Delay $75,000
Primary Cancellation $75,000
Secondary Delay $35,000
Secondary Cancellation $75,000

Falconry based bird abatement is 100% green and environmentally friendly. It is a quiet, non-invasive way to protect airports from birdstikes. Best of all it is extremely effective if done properly. Nature has hard wired both predator and prey with basic knowledge. By using well trained and flown falcons we create a protection area by putting a hunting falcon in the air over the airport. By having several falcons "hunting" the area, nuisance birds will avoid the area keeping them from damaging aircrafts.
The surroundings of most runways are characterized by an enormous biodiversity. Vast fields with little human presence makes an ideal habitat for birds to breed and forage. In the United States there are more than 20 collisions between birds and civilian aircraft each day, compromising the safety of passengers and resulting in substantial damage to equipment and costly down time.
Effective bird control is essential. At Sky Predators we offer effective and bird-friendly solutions for protecting airports.

We can help solve your problem through a combination of flying falcons, live trapping, and use of high power lasers at roost sites. By using falcons at roost time we can deter birds from coming in to roost at night. Lasers are used to get any nuisance birds out that do make it in. Trapping is a very valuable tool for removing pigeons during the day. By using a combination of tactics we can force these nuisance birds to find a new place to live/roost.
